WITH Limerick FC marching towards an EA Cup Semi final this week, Limerick junior side Pike Rovers are also in the middle of a month which could bring silverware.
The local Limerick side will play in the FAI Junior Cup final, as two late semi final goals sealed a place in the FAI Junior Cup final, (in association with Aviva and Umbro), against Sheriff YC on Saturday, May 14 at the Aviva Stadium.
Before that, Pike, currently second in the Premier Division, with two games in hand, will face Geraldines this Thursday, before a top of the table clash with Carew Park on Sunday morning.
If that wasn’t enough, Pike Rovers are also in the draw for the Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup.
The Limerick side have been paired against St Patrick’s Athletic from the Airtricity League Premier Division, with that game to be played on the weekend of May 22.
Holders Dundalk were drawn against Shelbourne FC in the tie of the round draw.
“We got Shels at home last year in the Second Round and went on to win the cup so hope it’s a good omen,” said Dundalk captain Stephen O’Donnell.
“We don’t want to be one of the shocks in this round so we’ll have to be fully focused. We may have caught them on an off day last year so can’t take anything for granted.
“The Cup Final is the biggest day of the Irish football season so we’d love to go back there again.”
