AFTER their opening day demolition of UCD, Limerick FC enjoyed another comprehensive win last Friday when they defeated Waterford United 5-2 at the RSC.
Goals from Robbie Williams, Aaron Greene and Paul O’Conor propelled Martin Russell’s team into a three-goal lead by half-time and O’Conor got his second of the night with 15 minutes to go to put further daylight between the teams.
A late James O’Brien double put some respectability on the scoreline for Waterford before Greene rounded off the night with Limerick’s fifth of the game. The ex-Sligo Rovers and St Patrick’s Athletic man already has four goals for the season after just two games.
The Super Blues’ next two matches will be against Cobh Ramblers, firstly in the league on Saturday evening at Markets Field (kick-off 6:30pm) before the sides meet again at St Colman’s Park next Tuesday in the first round of the EA Sports Cup. They have already met once in 2016, with Cobh winning their Munster Senior Cup clash a month ago.
