THE LIMERICK hurlers remain on course for promotion from Division 1B of the hurling league this season as TJ Ryan’s side prepare to face Laois this coming Saturday.
Undefeated Limerick will face the midlanders at 5pm in the Gaelic Grounds in a double header which will also see the footballers take on Westmeath at 7pm.
Limerick defeated Offaly last weekend, 1-19 to 0-14 and therefore remain in first place in their division ahead of a massive two weeks for the county.
Should Limerick win, as expected this weekend. all roads will lead to the new look Cusack Park in Ennis for the final league game of the season on Sunday March 20 against Clare.
With wins over Wexford, Kerry and now Offaly in the bag, Limerick will take their good form into Saturday night against Laois, who themselves have only lost all three of their opening league games.
With Limerick strong favourites for this tie, TJ Ryan’s charges must guard against complacency (Laois have scored an average of 18 points per game this season) while also making sure that the game against Clare in Ennis in not on the horizon until after the final whistle.
In team news, Limerick could be able to welcome back Graeme Mulcahy and James Ryan, while Declan Hannon has been nursing a heel injury since the Offaly game. Hannon is expected to miss out this weekend, with the Clare game to come.
