THE LIMERICK footballers sit at the foot of the National Football League Division three table this week, following a 1-14 to 0-11 loss to Clare on Sunday in Newcastlewest.
John Brudair’s men have one point from their opening three games, following their second defeat in a row. This Sunday, the shannonsiders travel to Newbridge to take on table toppers Kildare.
The Lilywhites are 3-0 for the season, recording wins over Westmeath (2-9 to 0-11), Offaly (1-12 to 1-8) and Longford (2-11 to 0-10) in their opening three ties.
With Kildare allowing only an average of 10 points per game, coupled with Limerick scoring an average of just 12 points per game, this looks like it could be a long afternoon for the men in green.
Kildare will call on the scoring prowess of Eoghan O’Flaherty and Barry McKeon once more this weekend as they chase a fourth win.
